The Abia State Police Command has apprehended two women, 58-year-old Louis Osueke and 42-year-old Esther Jude, for allegedly abducting two children from an Anglican Church in Okpuumuobo, Aba.
State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, confirmed the arrests during a press briefing in Umuahia on Friday, September 19, 2025.
According to him, the police acted on credible intelligence to track down the suspects on September 17. The children — 6-year-old Chidinma Uzochukwu and a 10-month-old baby — were safely rescued and reunited with their family.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
