Arise Television’s Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has taken aim at Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara over his recent remarks following his reinstatement as governor.
In a post on his official X handle on Saturday, Oseni accused Fubara of being “bullied and subdued” into silence, adding that the governor was now celebrating what he described as the “peace of the graveyard.”
“Fubara is celebrating peace of the graveyard, after he has been bullied and subdued. Peace is better than war, he says. Play back all his tapes for him,” Oseni wrote.
His comments followed Governor Fubara’s statewide broadcast on Friday, where the governor urged Rivers residents to reflect on lessons from the six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu on the state.
During his address, Fubara stated that “the costliest peace is cheaper than the cheapest war.” He also explained that he chose to cooperate with the Federal Government and resisted calls to challenge the constitutionality of the emergency rule in order to preserve peace, stability, and progress in the state.
Oseni’s remarks have sparked debate on social media, with many questioning whether the governor’s conciliatory stance signals strength or submission.
