The Lagos State Police Command has cleared Pastor Paul Adefarasin of any wrongdoing in the viral video incident involving what appeared to be a gun. The controversy stemmed from a June 2025 video showing the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church holding a gun-like object while confronting a content creator filming his vehicle in traffic. Adefarasin voluntarily reported to police headquarters in Ikeja for questioning, where he provided a cautionary statement.
After a thorough investigation, including interrogation and examination of the object, police confirmed it was a stun gun (a non-lethal device classified as prohibited anti-riot equipment in Nigeria) rather than a firearm. On September 17, 2025, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated there were no sufficient grounds to proceed, and the case has been discontinued. Adefarasin was granted administrative bail during the probe and has been fully exonerated.
