The Kebbi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to sanction members allegedly plotting to sabotage its upcoming congresses scheduled for September 20 and 27, 2025.
The party’s Legal Adviser, Mr. Nura Bello, disclosed this on Friday in Birnin Kebbi while addressing journalists. He emphasized that the PDP at the national level had already set up a Disciplinary Committee to tackle cases of anti-party activities.
“Our party at the national level has already constituted a Disciplinary Committee to deal with any member found engaging in anti-party activities or sabotaging the congresses,” Bello stated.
He also clarified issues surrounding a court order that circulated on social media on September 18, reportedly halting the PDP congresses in Kano and Kebbi States. According to him, the party swiftly engaged legal counsel to vacate the order, which was successfully granted.
Bello lamented that the plaintiffs behind the lawsuit were PDP members in Kebbi State, stressing that jurisdictional matters should have been addressed at the state High Court, rather than being escalated unnecessarily.
The PDP maintained that its congresses would go on as planned, warning that any internal sabotage would not go unpunished.
