Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State declared President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election a “done deal” during an event on September 16, 2025, in Dutse, the state capital. The declaration came amid the handover of a newly donated Renewed Hope Sensitisation office by APC National Financial Secretary Hon. Bashir Usman Gumel, a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). The office is intended to document and promote Tinubu’s projects and the Renewed Hope Agenda in the state, while mobilizing grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Gumel, addressing party loyalists and stakeholders including former local government chairmen, aides to ex-Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar (now Minister of Defence), and representatives from APC support groups, emphasized Jigawa’s loyalty to the APC. He highlighted the state’s role in delivering votes for Tinubu in the 2023 election and pledged continued support under Badaru’s influence, stating that Jigawa would “deliver again in 2027.” Gumel described the re-election as a “done deal,” citing Tinubu’s widespread endorsements across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the need for stakeholders to “join the moving train.”This local endorsement aligns with broader APC efforts, including a national party summit in May 2025 where Tinubu was endorsed as the sole presidential candidate for 2027, though the party later clarified in August 2025 that primaries would remain open to interested members. However, the Jigawa statement reflects strong state-level confidence in Tinubu’s victory, framed around his leadership style, developmental projects, and economic reforms.
