The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is set to flag off the construction of 12 new roads in Abuja starting Thursday, September 18, 2025. This initiative is part of a broader infrastructure push in the FCT, with the flag-offs continuing through October 16, 2025. The projects include arterial roads, bridges, erosion control measures, and infrastructure development in areas like Wuye, Karsana West, Kaura, Asokoro, and Guzape.
Additionally, Wike will commission two recently completed roads and launch the Light Up Abuja Programme, which involves installing solar streetlights across major districts and expressways to enhance security and visibility. These activities follow his recent inspection of ongoing projects, including the rehabilitation of 135 roads and the Arterial Road N16, with a focus on improving connectivity and urban development in the capital.
