The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Kaduna Zonal Directorate has arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters in Lapai Local Government Area, Niger State. The arrests, made on Friday, September 19, 2025, involved 18 males and one female, all linked to ongoing cybercrime investigations.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed that the EFCC seized several items from the suspects, including a Honda Civic, 33 mobile phones, five laptops, a power generator, three Bluetooth speakers, a white calabash, and other fetish objects, indicating the suspected use of rituals in their alleged criminal activities.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded, as authorities continue to clamp down on cybercrime across Nigeria.
This operation underscores the commission’s commitment to tackling internet fraud and cybercrime nationwide, sending a strong message that fraudulent activities will not be tolerated.
