After nearly three decades together, Akon’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, has officially filed for divorce.

Court documents reveal that Tomeka, who says she married the music star in September 1996, is ending their marriage on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

According to TMZ, the couple share a 17-year-old child. Tomeka is requesting joint legal custody, physical custody, and spousal support — while also asking the court to prevent Akon from seeking spousal support from her.
