South African rap star David Junior Ngcobo, better known as Nasty C, has disclosed that he is considering changing his stage name after admitting it has no real meaning.
In a candid interview with Madame Joyce in London, the rapper behind hits like “Coolest Kid in Africa” revealed that his popular moniker was simply a random creation.
“It’s Just Random” – Nasty C
When asked about the origin of his name, Nasty C admitted:
“It’s random. I just put a bunch of letters together and I started making words out of it, and then I picked that one. I have no idea what the name means. I don’t know.”
He went on to confess that he had previously fabricated a story about his first producer calling him “Nasty Cat”, which he claimed inspired the name Nasty C.
“But it’s a lie. I just wanted to have a story and I wanted to mention that guy’s name because he really did help me start my career,” he said.
The rapper concluded by hinting strongly at rebranding:
“My stage name is just vibe. I want to change it now.”
What’s Next for Nasty C?
While he did not reveal his potential new name, the revelation has already sparked conversation among fans who have known him as Nasty C for over a decade.
