Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, empowered 500 women in Enugu State with ₦50,000 each on September 18, 2025, as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation. This program aims to support small businesses and economic empowerment for women across Nigeria, with beneficiaries selected from all 17 local government areas in Enugu through the office of the state’s First Lady, Nkechinyere Mbah. The event was represented by Mrs. Mbah on behalf of Senator Tinubu, and it’s part of a nationwide rollout targeting 18,500 women with a ₦1 billion donation from the foundation. Similar distributions have occurred in other states like Ondo, Nasarawa, and Anambra, confirming the program’s scale.
