The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Kwara State has been temporarily relocated from Yikpata (Edu Local Government Area) to the Kwara State Polytechnic campus along Old Jebba Road in Ilorin, due to recent security concerns including bandit attacks in the region. This decision was announced on September 18, 2025, by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Joshua Onifade, during a press conference in Ilorin. It applies specifically to the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course, which is scheduled from September 24 to October 14, 2025, and expects about 1,800 corps members.
A delegation from NYSC headquarters will inspect the new temporary site to ensure it meets requirements, and enhanced security measures will be in place. The relocation is temporary, aimed at prioritizing corps members’ safety amid ongoing insecurity in areas like Edu and Patigi LGAs, while the Kwara State Government continues efforts to address broader security challenges.
