Chef Eno James from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, is attempting a Guinness World Record for cooking the largest pot of Afang soup (also known as Usung Ikpong or Usong Ikpong) and Afia Efere Ebot (white soup). The event is scheduled for October 2025 in Uyo, the state capital. This follows recent successes by other Akwa Ibom natives, such as Hilda Baci’s confirmed record on September 12, 2025, for the largest quantity of jollof rice (8,780 kg). Recent social media buzz, including posts from local influencers and news accounts, confirms the announcement and growing excitement around the attempt.
