Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has opened up about one of the strangest rumors he has heard about himself.

Speaking in an interview with an American host on Apple Music, the Grammy-winning artist was asked to mention a common misconception people have about him.

The host posed the question:

“What would you say is a common misconception about Burna Boy? What is something that people assume about you but they’re wrong?”

In response, Burna Boy revealed:

“One is that I don’t like to shave my armpit. People think that is some… you know how Samson in the Bible is right?”

The host interjected, “With the hair?” to which Burna replied in agreement:

“With the hair.”

He went on to explain that some Nigerians have jokingly claimed his strength comes from his armpit hair, likening it to Samson’s biblical story.

When the host asked if the belief was linked to Yoruba culture, Burna clarified that it was simply a rumor spread by Nigerians.
